Infection is an ever present risk in the hospital environment, particularly during surgery, and Acrobot recognises that infection control is paramount in the minds of theatre staff. The basis of surgical site infection prevention requires a rigorous adherence to the principles of asepsis and it is critical to minimise a patient's exposure to bacterial contamination from the environment. Acrobot’s custom surgical drapes help reduce this risk by creating a sterile surface which helps minimise the transfer of micro-organisms between non-sterile areas and Acrobot Navigator.
Acrobot’s Custom Navigator Drapes have been designed both to reduce set
up time
in theatre and to improve ease of use compared with conventional drapes
which can be
awkward and time consuming to use. |

Bone Pins
|

Bone pins are an
essential
part of Acrobot Navigator as they connect instrument interlocks to the
patient’s
bone. This provides key information that tells Acrobot Navigator the
position of
the patient’s bone relative to instrumentation the surgeon uses for
bone preparation.
For each bone, two pins are required and these are supplied non-sterile. Acrobot recommends 130mm bone pins for knee procedures and 180mm bone pins for hip procedures. |
